IPPI Card For All!
Every pilot proficiency rated in an internationally recognized scheme? A dream? No, reality in Serbia, Hungary, France and Italy.
Since 1992, the International Pilot Proficiency Information (IPPI) Card provides a standard reference by which all national rating programs may be compared. The IPPI card can now be issued by approved associations to all their licensed pilots for a small yearly fee. The IPPI Card is then just a logo on the pilot national licence and level can be adjusted any time.
Associations in France, Italy, Hungary and Serbia have adopted the new scheme in 2015. Italy reported on it…
"Here is our follow-up on this new initiative of the yearly IPPI card. It’s been a success from any point of view. The feedback has been very good, the pilots seem to appreciate a lot having the IPPI card on the membership card.
First of all, it is provided at zero costs to all of our members, then they don’t have to file a special request in order to receive the IPPI card. Even the pilots who didn’t have the IPPI card because then didn’t want to bother with bureaucracy now have it with no effort and like it. They only have to file additional documentation if they want to be certified for an IPPI level above level 3, which is the level associated to the national licence. Levels 4 and 5 require a certification by an instructor.
In our database we have the current IPPI level for all of our members so we will always automatically issue the correct and updated IPPI level for all of them.
So far, we issued a total 3784 IPPI cards, most of them to our members. Some have been issued to non-members. The numbers are not expected to grow much until the end of the year. They are expected to grow next year. We are now preparing the 2017 membership card."
