Paragliding Accuracy Euro Postponed to 2022

In agreement with the organisers, the 7th FAI Paragliding Accuracy European Championship has been postponed to 2022.

Valentin Popa, the Meet Director, wrote: "No matter how hard we tried to postpone this moment in the hope of improving the situation, we came to the conclusion that the best decision we can make is to postpone the championship scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 5 in Sibiu, Romania, to a similar period in 2022.

It was a difficult decision. We based it on serious considerations regarding the predictability of freedom of movement and the possibility of organising sports events with a large number of people. The major decisions regarding the circulation and safety of athletes did not belong to us. We watched the evolution of European countries’ decisions regarding the situation of the pandemic. We also wanted to respect pilots and all those willing to spend their financial resources to participate in this championship.

Although we have invested financial resources, work and passion for organising this competition, we do not want to waste what we have built so far by forcing the organisation of this top competition at any cost.
Given the impossibility of postponing the competition for 2021 due to the World Championship held in Macedonia, we will stay focused to continue our preparation work until 2022.
Thank you very much for your support. You have our appreciation for your work".
