WPRS Update January 2004
PARAGLIDING Added were the Belguim Flatland, Pedro Bernardo, La Palma. Results still not received so NOT added: Tropheo Montegrappa, X Copa Pirineus, Greek Open (Amfikela), Portuguese Open, Brazil Nationals, Algodonales Nationals. Deleted were the French Open, Nordic Cup (Austria), Pian Delle Betulle, Porto da Espada, Portugese Moncorvo, Slovenian Open, Spanish Open (Ager). The Jaen Open and the Swiss PG Champs have not been added yet. Alex Hofer (SUI) still leads, Norman Lausch (GER) stays 2nd and Helmut Eicholzer (AUT) 3rd. Achim Joos (GER) goes to 4th swopping places with Jean-Marc Caron (FRA) in 5th. Jimmy Pacher (ITA) stays 6th, Kaoru Ogisawa(JPN) makes a large jump of 8 places to 7th and Christian Tamegger (AUT), Tomas Brauner (CZE) and Scotty Marion (USA) each lose a place to 8th, 9th and 10th. In the nations rankings Switzerland maintain their lead, Japan jump 2 places to 2nd, Austria stay 3rd but France move down 2 to 4th. Germany and the UK remain 5th and 6th while South Africa climbs 3 places to 7th. Italy falls a place to 8th, Norway remain 9th and Poland rises a place to join the top 10. Results not received so not added were the Greek Nationals and the European Cup UK. For the first time since 2001 there is a new leader of the Precision rankings – Andy Shaw (UK) finally deposes Matjaz Feraric (SLO) to 2nd. Matjaz Sluga (SLO) remains 3rd joined by Tone Svojsak (SLO). Sandi Marincic (SLO) gains a place to 5th while Jaka Gorenc (SLO) slides a place to 6th. The rest of the top 10 remain the same. In the nations the top 3 remain the same lead by Slovenia, GBR in 2nd and Serbia and Montenegro in 3rd. The Netherlands jump 3 places to 4th, so Lithuania, Bulgaria and Czech Republic drop a place to 5th 6th and 7th. Korea moves up 2 places to 8th, Austria remain 9th and Greece move up 2 slots to complete the top 10. Deleted were: British Black Mountains, Hellenic Comp, Millau Classic. Changes were made to the 22nd Birdman Cup, Japan HG Open. Results still not received so NOT added were; Open Serra de Estrela, Upper Austrian, Brazilia. There are no changes to the top 10, Manfred Ruhmer (AUT) leads, Antoine Boisselier (FRA) is 2nd, Oleg Bondarchuk (UKR) 3rd. In the nations rankings, the order is France, Germany, Austria, Australia and UK are the top 5, Italy gain another place to 6th, USA are up to 7th Spain drop 2 places to 8th, Brazil and Sweden stay 9th and 10th. Changes were made to the Japanese Open. There are no changes to the top 10. David Chaumet (FRA) stays top, Christian Ciech (ITA) 2nd and Alessandro Ploner (ITA) 3rd. USA still lead with Switzerland 2nd and Germany 3rd. The rest of the top 10 stay the same, but France takes 6th place from UK (7th). Brian Porter (USA) leads Manfred Ruhmer (AUT) with Robin Hamilton (UK) in 3rd. USA is in the nations top spot, GBR is 2nd, Germany 3rd.
